Three angels bumped into me this morning.
I had taken the long walk to Gethsemane and was just east of Temple Mount/ Al Aqsa Mosque enjoying the view and the heat and thinking about Jesus remark to the Woman at the well: Give me a drink.
I had stopped looking down at Absolom’s Pillar in the valley below, and the Mount of Olives above. These three paused at the same spot that i was at. I pointed them to The Church of All Nations before spotting the trinity tatto on the hand of the oldest: Christopher which made me wonder if he would be allowed on up on the mount as you cant go there with any religious books or symbols at all.
So he says Thanks and Can i pray for you? So I sad Okay and they prayed, good long extemporary encouraging prayers and one offered up a picture of a to do list whch he discerned meant that i should stay away from them and just be open to whatever the Lord might have for me that day.
That was a good prayer. I went to Gethsemane where i read some John and heard an asian church singing, and then obliged a couple by taking a photo of them with their phone. I walked past groups praying and reading the bible in German, Russian Swedish, (ok im not entirely sure i got that right) and in a chrch by the Station where Jesus stumbled there was an African church singing in French.
I was starting to write this when i saw the time and chose instead to nip round the corner to the Cathedral of st James where i enjoyed 40 minutes of Armenian chanting in aramaic. Ive been praying to get in here for 12 years so imagine my delght when i finally did. The Church itself doesnt have a door but huge heavy leather flaps, i supose to keep the heat out. I am going to try to go there every day that i can because it is only ever open for half an hour once a day if theyre not doing something else!
Praise the Lord for entertaining angels, may you be one today, may you come across one and so ebtertain them and be open to the blessing that you might give each other.
